Placements
Placements are mandatory for students of FH Bachelor's and FH diploma
degree programmes. It has to be ensured that the placement corresponds
to the educational goals of the FH degree programme and that the
students perform jobs that reflect their qualifications.
The principle of freedom of contract applies to the definition
of the legal relationship between the student and the company offering
the placement. As the degree programme requires a placement, the legal
status is usually that of an intern.
The intern status establishes an employer-employee
relationship. Interns have an employer-employee relationship with the
company; they are obliged to perform their responsibilities and are
entitled to compensation. The amount of the compensation is negotiable;
at any rate, however, it should cover the increased costs students
incur during the placement at the location of the placement and
possible travel costs.
Please ask the course-providing bodies and the heads of degree
programmes for the detailed rules for placements. The legal principles
of the relevant countries apply to placements abroad. |
