Organisation of degree programmes

The structure and organisation of study programmes at Austrian Fachhochschulen are laid down in the Fachhochschule Studies Act (Fachhochschul-Studiengesetz, FHStG). When the FHStG as amended entered into force on 1 October 1993, a control mechanism that was innovative for the Austrian higher education system was created, which provides excellent conditions for setting up and expanding the Austrian FH sector. The navigation points below outline in detail the structure of the programmes, the individual forms of organisation, the entrance requirements and admission guidelines, the design of the curriculum and the organisation of exams as well as aspects of financial student support.
