Acknowledgement of documented knowledge and skills

Pursuant to section 12 sub-section 2 no. 6 of the Fachhochschule Studies Act (Fachhochschul-Studiengesetz, FHStG) as amended, documented knowledge shall be acknowledged and can lead to a shorter duration of studies.

The principle of course acknowledgment applies. Upon application by the students, the equivalence of the acquired knowledge vis-à-vis the requirements profile as to content and extent of the courses which the student has applied to be exempted from shall be ascertained. In the instance of part-time degree programmes, the applicants' expertise and experience which they gained in their working lives and which are relevant to the courses or placements may be taken into account.

The acknowledgement modalities are to be clearly described in the application for accreditation and will be reviewed by the FH Council (Accreditation Guidelines of the FH Council).
